On November 19-20, 2024, the 14th edition of the ‘Safe Packaging’ conference took place in Łódź, gathering 200 professionals from the printing and packaging industries. The event served as a key platform for exchanging knowledge on the latest trends in packaging production and recycling, as well as the role of sustainable development in the packaging sector.
Among the speakers were experts who shared their knowledge on innovations, technologies, and solutions related to the circular economy. As emphasized by Krzysztof Nowosielski, Sales Director and Proxy of ML Polyolefins: ‘The latest edition of the ‘Safe Packaging’ conference proved to be a great success, both in terms of attendance and content.”
The event was not limited to presentations alone; it also included the recognition of companies that are particularly engaged in pro-ecological activities. For the sixth time, ML Polyolefins awarded the Packaging Circular Economy (PCE) Certificates. The awards were given to companies that effectively implement the principles of the circular economy and efficiently manage plastic waste.
We are pleased to honor those companies that, in their daily operations, pay real attention to how the circular economy functions in their facilities, especially regarding the management of plastic waste,” said Krzysztof Nowosielski. “This is a special distinction for companies that prioritize sustainable development and effectively care for the environment.”
Robert Gogolewski, R&D Manager at CDM Sp. z o.o., emphasized the importance of companies actively managing their waste responsibly: “We strive to maintain this sustainable development model, managing our waste in the way that ML Polyolefins suggests.”
Meanwhile, Sławomir Bloch, Management Representative for Management Systems at A-Z Color Printing House, added: “This is a very important distinction. We often show our clients that we receive such a certificate because we produce while taking care of our environment.”
During the conference, there was also a panel discussion moderated by Anna Naruszko, Editor-in-Chief of the magazines Poligrafika and Opakowanie. The discussion focused on current challenges in the plastic packaging industry in Poland. The conversation featured Krzysztof Nowosielski from ML Polyolefins and Dr. Anna Kozera-Szałkowska from the Plastics Europe Polska Foundation. They highlighted the growing importance of pro-ecological solutions and the need to adapt to legislative requirements that present new challenges for the industry.
Additionally, conference participants had the opportunity to take part in a study visit to the Łódź Technology Institute – Łukasiewicz. During the visit, modern technologies used to test the durability of packaging and other innovative solutions in the industry were showcased.
The 14th edition of the “Safe Packaging” conference also provided a valuable opportunity for the exchange of experiences and the establishment of new industry contacts, making it an important element of the event. Participants, inspired by the event, are already looking forward to the next meeting, which is sure to surprise with new solutions and ideas for the future.
